In
the quest after a more spiritual concept of man and a clearer sense of true communion, a student of Christian Science was led to make a thorough study of the "Communion Hymn".
Whoever
undertakes the study of Christian Science should endeavor to understand and apply "the first and great commandment," "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Doubtless
it has been the privilege of each one at some time to come in contact with another who has patiently, tenderly, and persistently tended the garden of his thoughts.

In reply to a gentleman and "Antipas," writing in your issue of September 27, let me say that Christian Science does teach that God is the same yesterday, to-day, and forever.

How history repeats itself! When Christ Jesus healed all kinds of disease by spiritual means, the leaders of the church of those days attributed his power to the devil, and openly accused him of being in league with Satan.

On the front page of the January 3 issue of your paper a writer says, "Christian Science treatment may or may not be the cure for all diseases of the mind and body, but most people will believe that when there is a serious organic trouble it will require something else than mental suggestion.
As is usual at this time of year announcement is made of those members of The Christian Science Board of Lectureship who desire to reserve to themselves, for the study and practice of Christian Science, the coming lecture year.
Testimonies of healings brought about at authorized lectures on Christian Science will be published in The Christian Science Journal or the Christian Science Sentinel, when verified as are other testimonies appearing in the periodicals.

Several years ago, when my wife was seriously ill in a hospital and the family had been summoned for what was considered the last time, her mother called a Christian Science practitioner, whose work proved very effective.
I did not take up the study of Christian Science for any physical healing, although I have had many, but because I was searching for a peace which I did not possess.
Unable to attend school from my fifteenth to my nineteenth year, because of illness, I was finally given only a few months longer to live by my physician.
When Christian Science was first presented to me it was rejected, but in a moment of extremity, years afterward, when physicians had said nothing more could be done by them, I called on a Christian Science practitioner for help and received a healing in three weeks from a long siege of sickness.
Having received so much good from reading the testimonies in The Christian Science Journal and the Christian Science Sentinel, I feel I should express my gratitude for the help I have received from Christian Science.
