When I hurt my foot during tae kwon do
I love practicing tae kwon do—a Korean martial art. But once, during practice, I injured my foot. There was swelling, and my foot hurt when I walked. Initially, I ignored it, thinking it would get better on its own. But it started to hurt more intensely.
For the last four years, I have been attending Christian Science Sunday School in Chandigarh, India, where I live. There I have learned how to pray and that I can pray about any problems I am facing, including injury or illness. So I decided to turn to God and I also sought prayerful help from a Christian Science practitioner. She shared this selection from a book I’ve read in Sunday School, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy: “The divine metaphysics of Christian Science, like the method in mathematics, proves the rule by inversion. For example: There is no pain in Truth, and no truth in pain; no nerve in Mind, and no mind in nerve; no matter in Mind, and no mind in matter; no matter in Life, and no life in matter; no matter in good, and no good in matter” (p. 113).
I have learned that I can pray about any problems I am facing.
