How prayer for myself became prayer for the world

Moments after my husband Joe and I returned from our honeymoon, I realized my new wedding ring was missing. I was devastated. It looked like an unpleasant end to the wonderful days we had just spent together.

I mentally went over the many places we’d stopped on the way home, and it seemed impossible to backtrack to search for the ring. I told Joe what had happened and that I needed to calm down. I found a quiet spot and prayed.

Over the years, I’ve learned to trust in the healing nature of prayer. I knew from my study of Christian Science that the Science of Christianity relies on Principle, God. His law—the law of good and harmony—is even more dependable and fool-proof than the math rules we all know and trust.
