Civility in politics

Live audio chat with Judy Wolff, C.S.B.

In this lively chat Judy describes some of the extremist mental influences and negative thought forces that are working against the West and challenging Christianity and democracy specifically. Noting the efforts of Western democratic governments to address economic and social problems, she points toward a "mental murkiness" that has made it difficult for them to reach decisions.  And she says, "We have to reach the point where we really see that God governs no matter what's going on in the human condition."

To help us reach that point,  she provides thoughts on how to be an influence for good. She also responds to questions on topics such as civility and partisanship,  integrity in politics, how to pray about an "us versus them" outlook that demonizes one side or the other, how to examine our motives for voting, and the importance of supporting "righteous government."
