Inspired by I Kings 19:1–12
On
the run
from a vengeful
enemy, alone and afraid
on a far-off wilderness mount,
Elijah encounters God—not in force
but in the compelling fact of His presence,
decisively neutralizing terror in one holy moment.
When we feel pursued or targeted or trapped,
alone and afraid in a desert of doubt and despair,
God is present to still every fear in one holy moment—
to reveal His glorious view of us, secure at the summit
of spiritual reality.
