Love’s second mile
Our understanding and demonstrations of Love can go up higher and higher still—
as high as needed.
Christ Jesus said to his followers, “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another” (John 13:34).
Does it seem as if obedience to this Christly counsel is being challenged like never before? And does it seem at times as if loving one another might be wimpy and ineffective?
Listening for God’s voice, the voice of Love itself, can lead our thought from these questions to a deeper understanding of God and our oneness with Him and one another. This, in turn, brings about practical demonstrations of that oneness through Christ.
