Unless you bless me
Originally appeared online - March 28, 2025.
In nameless place
a mortal slept and
dreamt in dust of
angel thoughts and
ladders dropping to
his pillowed stone and
knew God was there.
Soon one night alone
that man he caught a
thought and in error
tried to make it
his but tables turned
and oh he learned
that only God creates:
there never was
a mortal born
named “Israel”
for Jacob came
from Isaac’s flesh
but Soul named
“Israel” when he
enduring won.
So catch your angel
hold it fast
and don’t let go till
from its lips
you are reborn in
spiritual travail
a child of Israel.
