Before I learned about Christian Science, I was diagnosed with chronic tonsillitis, for which I took painkillers. In the downtown area of my city, the polluted air would cause discomfort in my tonsils as well as headaches and even vomiting, so I would avoid going there.

Then one day I was introduced to Christian Science by a friend who invited me to the branch Church of Christ, Scientist, in Bogota. I have been attending ever since. I saw that Christian Science offered the solution to my problem, so I began to study Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy along with the Bible and to read articles from the Spanish edition of The Herald of Christian Science. 

Healing came about naturally as I practiced what I was learning and kept my thought calm and focused on God. The discomfort in my tonsils disappeared, and since then, I have been able to go downtown without feeling ill.
