Paradise found
Shall I pray to catch the ear
of a distant God,
or hope to bring the Lord of heaven
down to earth?
Rather, let me know
that right here
“Our Father which art in heaven” Matthew 6:9
means also that
I reside with Him, now, in heaven.
We are no fallen family,
cast from Eden,
cut off from God by time or space.
We are forever one with Him,
who holds us
in His close embrace.
Shall I pray to catch the ear
of a far-off God?
No,
I shall seek and hear His constant voice,
look and see His present light,
live
to show that I am one with Him.
James Walter
