No more fatigue and leg weakness
The warm, dry afternoon beckoned as an ideal time to do my part in keeping the neighborhood neat by again mowing the lawn. My mowing is old-school and involves pushing a gasoline-powered machine. After I had completed my second lap around the yard, this thoroughly gladdening realization swept over me: “Free at last, free at last!” I was free of abnormal fatigue and a weakness in my lower legs that had been bothering me for more than a year.
Finishing activities such as lawn mowing and extended walks had been a challenge during that time. For one who has, since boyhood, enjoyed the strength and endurance to do whatever has been required, this situation was intolerable.
My prayers were persistent over that period. I prayed to recognize that God, Spirit, was manifested through me, God’s beloved creation. Jesus, the master Christian, once said, “He that seeth me seeth him that sent me” (John 12:45). I knew that my true identity, which is wholly spiritual, is all that I truly experience and all that the world sees about me all the time because it is my only identity.
