Freed of a painful injury
I was at a playground in Finland with my family, having a great time with the grandchildren as they enjoyed climbing, swinging, jumping, and everything else they could do on a beautifully equipped playground.
One of the swings was a heavy round basket intended to be used by several children at the same time. This swing hangs from a solid metallic structure and whirls around with a radius of several meters. It’s quite a formidable apparatus, and once it gains momentum, it’s not easy to stop. In many ways, it’s similar to some fairground rides.
I and others were pushing the basket energetically while the children asked excitedly for more speed. At some point, I took my eyes off the rotating basket while discussing what activity we would do next. As I did so, I must have shifted my position, inadvertently putting myself in the path of the basket as it swung.
