Childhood healings
When I was five years old, my brother and I fell ill, and the doctor my parents consulted said that we needed to have our tonsils removed. My mother regularly took us to Christian Science Sunday School, but my dad was not a Christian Scientist, so the decision was made to have the surgery done.
When I woke up after the operation, I was in so much pain that I passed out. At that point, my mom decided to rely on Christian Science for our care from that time forward.
A couple of days after we got home from the hospital, the pain from the operation was gone, but I came down with the mumps. My mom started praying but felt overwhelmed. My brother had just drunk out of my water glass, and she was afraid he might catch the disease as well.
