Freed of chest pains and grief

Some years ago, I learned a valuable lesson in the importance of watching my thoughts in order to have harmony in my life. In my study of Christian Science, I’ve learned that watching my thoughts involves learning to differentiate between the thoughts that come from the divine Mind, God, and those that come from what the Bible calls the “carnal mind,” which is “enmity against God” (Romans 8:7). The need is to accept as real only thoughts from God. The teachings of Christian Science show how we can do this.

Prior to my mother’s passing, she had been experiencing strong chest pains, and a family member insisted that she go to the hospital. I was grateful to be there with her for the last two days before she passed, but I was distraught and filled with grief during this time.

Shortly after I arrived home, I began to exhibit serious chest pains myself. And they weren’t going away.
