Woven by God

Whenever I’m feeling upset or alone
and my worries seem never to cease
and even the sweetest Bible truths
don’t bring me solace or peace

I sometimes like to picture myself
as a vibrant and bold design
woven into God’s magnificent tapestry
with whose warp and woof I align

Though I’m distinct and unique
I reflect His every trait
So grateful am I for my being—in Soul—
which Mind alone did create

Were it possible to remove from God
I’d fray to a thousand strands
My absence would rebut His infinitude
—leave a rent in His masterwork grand

But separate from Him I never will be
while mindful of His love and force
God is not just an uplifting idea
but my essence, my purpose, my source!
