Back problem quickly healed

Christian Science is a blessing in my life, and not a day goes by that I don’t give gratitude to God for helping, uplifting, and renewing me. 

One Sunday my lower back seized up, making movement painful and limited. Also, one leg felt numb and seemed shorter than the other, causing me to limp. Immediately, I began praying to cherish the deep spiritual lesson that I expected this experience to hold for me. Knowing that it helps to let go of the belief that some part of me has been damaged and needs to be fixed (since God’s love always keeps us safe from injury of any kind), I prayed to be receptive to the inspiration that God was revealing. 

Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer of Christian Science, assures us (using Love as another name for God), “Remember, thou canst be brought into no condition, be it ever so severe, where Love has not been before thee and where its tender lesson is not awaiting thee” (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, pp. 149–150). To look for Love’s tender lesson was my starting point.
