Knowing the Lord brings blessings
For the Lesson titled "God" from December 31, 2012 - January 6, 2013
In Section I, we are instructed to get better acquainted with God. In Deuteronomy, it says, “Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the Lord he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else” (4:39, citation 2). Just as in our human relationships, our relationship with God is strengthened by knowing Him better. Mary Baker Eddy tells us how we go about doing this: “Not materially but spiritually we know Him as divine Mind, as Life, Truth, and Love” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 140, cit. 4).
Our relationship with God is not a theoretical crutch to lean on.
