Maybe you recently graduated from college and seek clarity about your career path, but you live with your parents while you try to land a job—any job (or you head to graduate school for a few years). Or maybe you’ve enjoyed a fruitful career, but now you feel irrelevant and lost. Doors appear closed to you because of a perfect storm of company cutbacks, your résumé, and your age. Or maybe you don’t have a required degree to take on a particular job.

Wherever you find yourself along life’s trajectory, you might well face anxiety and even despair as you try to bring your identity into focus and size up your prospects for income and work.
