COMPLETE USE OF MY ARM

Jesus taught us something about our true substance in the way he responded to the temptation to make stones into bread (see Matt. 4:1–4). The real temptation was to admit that life and substance were in matter and that matter provided essential sustenance. His answer was, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God" (verse 4). This provides a glimpse into the spiritual fact that life and substance are not found in matter or the physical body, but in the Word of God, Spirit, who is Life itself.

These ideas were my chief support during a time when I was dealing with a challenging physical situation, and they ultimately brought complete healing.

Following a severe fall, I found that my right arm was lifeless. For months it hung limp and unusable. During this time, my dear wife helped me with getting dressed, and I accomplished other tasks with a new reliance on my left hand. But all along, I felt held in subjection to a kind of lawless power capable of producing inharmony.
