GOD'S LAW HEALS

One evening last fall, my husband and I decided to go to the beach and dig clams for our dinner. We filled our basket until dusk, when all shellfishing ends for the day. After watching the beautiful sunset, we headed home.

It was a cold evening, and we were chilled through and a bit wet. Since it had become quite dark by the time we reached home, I asked my husband to turn on the outside lights that shine on our woodpile, so I could bring in enough wood for a fire.

While I gathered the wood, my husband went inside to start dinner. After collecting as much wood as I could carry, I went to the other end of the pile for kindling, and added some to the stack already in my arms. However, there was a car parked at that end, casting a dark shadow on the ground. As I turned, my foot caught in some materials hidden in the shadow. I fell forcefully head-first onto the pile of wood I'd just gathered. When I landed, my chin bounced back as it hit a piece of firewood.
