ANYONE CAN BE A HEALER

DRAWN TO HELP—AND HEAL

"PRINCIPLE AND ITS IDEA IS ONE , and this one is God, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent Being, and His reflection is man and the universe" (Science and Health, pp. 465–466).

Reading those words made me feel like the Bible's prodigal son coming home to his father. The philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche's declaration, "God is dead," which I first read when I was 11 years old, had such an impact on me that it robbed me completely of my childlike trust in the existence of a loving God, and caused me much mental turmoil. For several years, I looked in many directions for satisfying answers, especially for a reason for my existence, but to no avail.

When I started studying Christian Science, its teachings revolutionized my whole way of thinking. It gave satisfying answers to all of my questions and, especially, a wonderful feeling of unity with God, who is Love.
