A grander view, and reasons to trust

If you ever visit the Grand Canyon in the off-season, as I did one snowy spring morning, you may have moments out on one of the promontories when it's just you and 300 degrees of extraordinary landscape. I remember the feeling—nothing between me and the Colorado River below, except a sturdy railing. I sure wouldn't have leaned over that railing, the canyon floor a mile below, if I didn't trust its strength.

Similarly, we lean on friends for help when experience tells us we can trust their wisdom and confidentiality.

When it comes to something as important as caring for one's health, it's natural to rely on the form of care that's proved most effective. Thousands of individuals and families have had at least one experience approaching that of man Christ Christ Jesus healed of blindness. When the man was challenged on how the healing had happened, he replied, "One thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see" (John 9:25).
