My healing

One day, I was playing water polo in school. I'm on a team, and I love playing water polo.

But this time I got hurt during the game. The ball hit one of my fingers very hard. My finger became swollen, and I had to stop playing. I was taken to the school infirmary, where they put on a temporary splint. I called up my mother to come get me. I wanted to pray, and I knew that I could be healed through prayer.

Before going home, we went by the school where my mother works. I had gone to school there before. The teachers who knew me and saw my finger were concerned. And they asked my mother, "You're going to take Tiago to the doctor, aren't you?" Mom told them she would do whatever was necessary to take care of me.

When we got home, my mom called a Christian Science practitioner to help us pray. We talked about how a ball doesn't have the power to separate me from God and His perfection. God made me spiritual and perfect. And I have always been surrounded by His goodness. No other powr could harm a spiritual idea of God—me. My mother asked me what I thought being the idea of God meant. I said it meant nothing bad could happen to me because God is everywhere and He's good.

That night, I had no more pain, and I took the splint off my finger. The next day, I played another game of water polo, without any problems. The finger didn't hurt anymore and it wasn't purple, as it had been.

When those teachers asked my mother how I was, I had already played another game of water polo.

I was well. And I was happy everybody saw that my finger was healed.
