LOVE WAS RIGHT THERE ALL THE TIME

The year 2004 was traumatic for me, and filled with great loss. In February, when ongoing repairs convinced me that my van had to be replaced, I already felt overwhelmed caring for my husband, who had a severe debility, looking after my 93-year-old mother, and running our small business. Where would I find the time and energy to accomplish this task? I turned to God. One of the things I treasure about Christian Science is how it teaches us to pray.

When I study the weekly Christian Science Bible Lesson, working to see my daily challenges from a spiritual perspective, I come away inspired and focused. When I am overwhelmed during the day, I pray to clear my mind and put my next steps in God's hands—and He sends angel thoughts of direction and clarity.

As I prayed, a satisfying conclusion came to the automobile difficulty. But there followed a series of events that made me wonder what else would happen. In the spring, I lost my delightful dog, Daisy, and my son and his family moved out of state. In the autumn, my daughter and her family moved away, too.
