QUESTION: Why does bad stuff sometimes happen to people when they've been good? And why do a lot of people who do bad things get good stuff—good grades, good clothes, whatever?
Sometimes when kids seem to be bad, inside they are very kind. Perhaps they are afraid to show it because their sibling or parents put them down, and they don't want to be put down at school. They may get good grades because they're really smart. I try to remember that everyone is good and spiritual because we are all children of God.

I try to recognize all people as children of God—just like me and you. God would never let bad things happen to you or anyone. And God never made bad people or bad things. Be grateful for what you do have, and all the good that what have, received.

If a person seems mean, it's usually because they don't feel like they fit in. Their way of dealing with that is to be mean. But anyone can see the good in them. You can know that they are in God's kingdom and in God's care, where no one is out of place. God supplies all—to all of us.

You don't always know what goes on at other kid's homes. Maybe they have to work really hard to get the good stuff. I would look for signs that show me people are good and loving—because that's how God made us.
