The story of Esther

QUEEN ESTHER prepared her message to Mordecai carefully. "Go, gather together all the Jews that are in Shushan, and hold a fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days or nights. My maids and I will do the same. Then, even though it is against the law, I will go to the king. If I perish, I perish."

Esther knew that approaching King Xerxes without being called could mean death. But if she didn't talk to him, all the Jews in Persia would be killed.

After sending her message, Queen Esther sat down to think.
