Spiritual courage

The February 2 issue ["courage from God"] so beautifully brought out the need for and importance of spiritual courage. All of the articles demonstrated how the writers had used the quality of courage to solve their problems. I was especially moved by Mehru Sorab's article on "When loss becomes gain." Her family's move from India to Canada, and the spiritual journey that accompanied it, provide encouragement and inspiration for all of us.

Encouraging issue

Many thanks for the power-packed message in the February 2 issue. All of the articles were so timely and profound that I read the entire issue from cover to cover. I could not put it down.

As tempting as it was to keep it in my pile of favourites, I was led to send it to someone who I knew would benefit from each writer's experience as related in this issue. The writer's deep love for God and man has greatly impressed me to continue to progress in my study of Christian Science.

Let God lead

Thank you for the wonderful article by Nate Talbot, "Listen your way through the storm," in the February 16 issue. This is a must-read, and I'm sharing it with everyone! It spoke to my own prayers for the world.

Mr. Talbot's closing comments are powerful: "whatever changes and transitions arise, we can let the inner voice steadily lead us closer to God. It will give us stillness, a quietness that will outweigh any commotion and bring the journey forward." We needed this article!

'Pray and then act'

Thank you for the issue on good government (February 23). The articles and testimonies spoke to every human concern we might have: being manipulated by feelings of lack of good government or safety, or that somehow our bodies have slipped outside of God's government. The Sentinel always arrives at exactly the right moment!

A number of people have been praying about a situation in our community. The editorial "The prayer that makes a difference" fortified me with Mary Baker Eddy's reminder that the "divine presence . . . guide(s) and bless(es)" our officials and "upholds our nation with the right arm of His righteousness" (Christian Science vs. Pantheism, p.14). The article assured me that "every leader, despot, king, queen, president, CEO, husband, wife, son, and daughter is in direct communication with divine Mind." The fact that "the Christ . . . is present in every consciousness" enabled us to take effective action.

Saying "there's nothing I can do" is not an option. We can pray and then act.

A healthier life

This is a long-overdue letter. I am very grateful for all the wonderful articles in your magazine. Many times these articles have healed me of physical challenges, self-pity, envy, and sadness.

I appreciate having pictures of the writers. This makes me feel so near to them—they're like friends next door. I'm also glad you have writers from different countries. This makes the magazine more universal. The pictures that accompany the articles are nice. They make the articles more alive. And I'm grateful your articles cover all world issues—business, sports, marriage, career, etc.

Thank you, writers, for Your articles are doing much good for the world. Congratulations to makers of this magazine. YOU are making my life healthful.
