A journey to find God

I was born in Ethiopia and left my country six years ago. I then lived in South Africa for five years. My first religion was Greek Orthodox; it is my family's religion, too. Eight years ago I had a lot of questions about my life. My biggest question was about the reality and existence of God. I was asking the priests in the Orthodox Church, but they couldn't answer to my satisfaction. I was not happy about life. If you don't get the meaning and the reality of life, you can't be happy.

One day I met a man at a friend's graduation party. He sat beside me, and we started chatting about the Word of God. God answered my questions through that person that day. This man invited me to his congregation. I was so happy. I went there. I joined the church. From then on, I got a lot of knowledge until I left the country and went to South Africa to establish my future.

God helped me. I went through a lot of hardship in my life. In 2001, I opened a shop in Pretoria. I was very successful in the business, but there was a lot of crime, and so I left South Africa. God opened the door for me to come to Australia in November 2003. From my point of view, God brought me here to make me a blessing for people. Just like Joseph, whom God sent to Egypt for the sake of His purpose. So I believe everything in my life has happened because of God's will.
