How much does God love me?

"How much does God love me?"
I asked my mom the day we walked the beach.
"More than all these grains of sand,
deeper than oceans reach."

"How big is God's love?"
I asked my dad, on top of a hill so high.
"Bigger than all that grows below,
much bigger than the sky."

"How does God's love feel?"
I wondered in bed, as the pink sun rose outside.
And then I felt the warmth and light
my curtains couldn't hide.

"What if l'm bad?"
I asked my dad.
"Does God still love me
then?"
"Always" he said, as he
hugged me close,
"and again and again
and again."

"How can that be?"
I asked as we stared
at the night sky
bright with stars.
"God doesn't see
the dark you're not.
He knows the star
you are."

"How do you know God loves me, Mom?"
"God shows me every day.
My love for you shows me God's view.
You're loved in every way."
