JUST FOR THE JOY OF IT

Pray for the joy of it? I was intrigued by the sound of that. It almost made prayer sound like a fun hobby, and one that probably improved with practice and experience. I also liked the no-strings approach. When we do something purely for the joy of it, like swimming on a hot day or calling a friend on the telephone, we don't expect any extra reward — just enjoyment of the activity itself.

I liked the no-strings approach.
