Prayer heals fever and malaria symptoms

One evening in September 1994, I started experiencing fever and other symptoms associated with malaria. Right from the first, I strove to study and pray. The first two phrases of the "Daily Prayer," given by Mary Baker Eddy in the Manual of The Mother Church, awakened my thought to the ever-presence of the kingdom of God. The full statement of the "Daily Prayer" is, "'Thy kingdom come;' let the reign of divine Truth, Life, and Love be established in me, and rule out of me all sin; and may Thy Word enrich the affections of all mankind, and govern them!" (Art. VIII, Sect. 4)

Using the first phrase, "Thy kingdom come," I began to reason that God, divine Principle, is the only lawgiver. His kingdom is not a specific locality but is everywhere, and we perceive it through spiritual understanding. The only authority, power, government, dominion, and sovereignty are in God, Truth, I held to the spiritual fact that omnipresent Spirit, Mind, knows no limits but encompasses all real existence. Since man is the perfect expression of God and is under the reign of perfect Principle, I knew my loving Father had established in me perfect health, since only goodness and harmony can be manifested in man.

I also prayed using the second phrase, "let the reign of divine Truth, Life, and Love be established in me, and rule out of me all sin." As I thought deeply about this statement, I began to understand that in God's divine government there can be no flaw—no discord, sin, disease, or death—and therefore no malaria. Instead, Truth, Life, and Love preclude all these. My understanding of Truth would therefore rule out of me all belief of sin, as well as all fear of illness and death. I regained my health in three days.
