Throat condition cured
A few years ago my throat was swollen, and for a number of days I had great difficulty in swallowing anything. It was also difficult to talk. At the time, my job required me to teach a gentleman from Venezuela who had traveled to the United States specifically for this training. I contacted a Christian Science practitioner for help. Each day we spoke about the spiritual ideas and insights we were gaining from our prayers about my true being as the child of God. I started each day of the weeklong training period by praying to know that the source of my strength, stamina, and speech was God. As His image and likeness, I was His perfect expression, and I could accomplish what was required of me.
When the training was successfully completed, I silently expressed my sincere gratitude to God. After the gentleman had left, I went home to dedicate my time to prayer for complete healing. I humbly prayed to God to know what it was that I needed to learn to heal this problem. As I prayed to gain a clearer understanding of God and of my relation to Him as His image and likeness, what came to me was from the book of Psalms in the Bible: "In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me" (56:4). This idea completely dissolved all of the fear, and not long afterward the swelling drained. I continued to pray, though, as it was still difficult to talk and swallow.
This realization dissolved the sense of loss, along with the remainder of the difficulty with my throat.
Sunday morning I was reading a testimony, in an issue of the Sentinel, that discussed how the author had been healed of grief when her father had passed on. I realized that I had still been feeling a sense of loss over one of our beloved pets who had passed on a year earlier. Tears of gratitude welled up when I realized that our pet was ever with God, eternal Love, and never separated from Him. This realization completely dissolved the sense of loss, along with the remainder of the difficulty with my throat. I was completely healed. An added bonus to this healing was that our other dog, who had been experiencing recurring ear infections over the past year, was healed at the same time I was. His ears quickly cleared up, and he has not had any more trouble with them since.
There was no more pain, and complete freedom of action ensued from that time forward.
My joy and gratitude for Christian Science and for Mrs. Eddy's unselfish sharing of her discovery with the world are immeasurable. I am also grateful to the practitioners who are so devoted to helping others experience healing through prayer, and to our Way-shower, Christ Jesus, for demonstrating the healing efficacy of the Science of Mind-healing. Lastly, I am grateful to have had Primary class instruction from a devoted teacher of Christian Science.
