Recently, I was in our Christian Science Reading Room, and I...

Recently, I was in our Christian Science Reading Room, and I decided to continue reading an issue of The Christian Science Journal that I had been reading earlier (it was the March 1972 issue). When I happened to find my name verifying one of the testimonies in this issue, I realized it was high time to testify again.

I had a permanent healing of headaches while on a trip out west with my husband and family. One night at a motel, my head began to pound. I didn't want this to spoil a happy family trip, so I prayed with all my heart to know that I was God's perfect child and not a suffering mortal. Suddenly I could hear God's thoughts coming to me. I knew that I couldn't have anything God didn't give me, and everything He gives us is good. As Genesis assures us, "God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good" (1:31). The headache disappeared, and to this day, over fifty years later, I have never experienced another one.

Headaches healed.

As a child I had missed many days of school because of what had been diagnosed as strep throat. About five years ago, I was healed of similar symptoms in one evening, so I am especially grateful for this quick healing. When I went to bed I had been unable to eat or drink anything. As I prayed I remembered a phrase from Science and Health: "...there is no room for imperfection in perfection" (p.424). I felt at peace. Whenever I woke up during the night, I continued to ponder this idea. I woke in the morning to sunshine and a perfect healing.

In my senior years, I am grateful to be able to live a very active life, drive a car, and take care of my home. I keep a special notebook where many healings have been listed over the years. These include healings of problems, being overweight, a rash, and the results of a fall. I am so glad that Mary Baker Eddy has shown us how to follow Christ Jesus in God's way.
