For many people, the image conjured up by the words big city tends to include crime, pollution, confusion, and decay—conditions that in their own way seem to resemble the besieged city of Bible times described in the first article "God will save this city." God saved that city because even in the face of overwhelming odds against success, its king prayed. Is there an answer here, a spiritual means of urban renewal for our own cities today?

A city's problems may seem overwhelming, but we are not helpless—we, too, can pray and watch for how the law of God can transform our cities.
