I am sending along an account of a recent healing that I hope may be helpful to someone else. One evening I was sitting up in bed reading when suddenly I began to experience a peculiar sensation in my arms and legs. I tried to walk, but my limbs wouldn't function properly.

I called out to my daughter-in-law, who was nearby, and she came at once. She helped me get settled for the night. I asked her to pray for me, which she lovingly agreed to do. We were both planning to go to the same Christian Science Students Association meeting the next day, and I did not want to miss this rich blessing.

We both prayed, and by morning everything about my physical well-being was normal. I attended the meeting and was completely free from the paralysis that had been evident. My gratitude knows no bounds for this wonderful healing.

This experience brings to my thought the Bible story of Ruth and Naomi, who both trusted in one God, eternal good, thus helping to break down the world thought of discordant human relationships between mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law.

Christian Science has helped me over the years in so many ways, and especially in the raising of my two children, who now are both active members of Christian Science branch churches in their communities.

As the daughter-in-law mentioned in the above testimony, I would like to verify that this healing occurred as stated. Mrs. Eddy wrote of Christ Jesus in her Miscellaneous Writings, "The Truth he has taught and spoken lives, and moves in our midst a divine afflatus" (p. 166). That statement came to mind as I was praying for my mother-in-law. I knew God's all-powerful Christ, Truth, expressed in harmonious movement, could not be stopped. By the next morning she was expressing her God-given freedom of movement.

At the time I married her son, I asked him if she would come and live with us, and he agreed to the arrangement. I felt led by God because this idea just came gently to my thought, and there was no pushing or pulling on anyone's part to make it come about. Her trust in God was what I appreciated the most. After many years, the relationship has continued to grow closer as we both strive to grow closer to God through the study of Christian Science.
