One day when I was in second grade I went to a friend's...

One day when I was in second grade I went to a friend's house to play. We were riding bicycles up and down the hill on her street, and I was riding her old bike because I had left mine at home.

Coming down the hill, I tried to put on the brakes, but the bike wouldn't stop. I fell off the bike, landing on my chin on the sidewalk. I was in much pain and couldn't open my mouth.

My friend's dad took me home and told my mom what had happened. It felt like my jaw was broken.

My mom held me close and told me I could never fall out of God's care. She told me the words of a hymn: "Everlasting arms of Love / Are beneath, around, above" (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 53). I felt safe and stopped crying right away. Then my mom had me sit down on the rocking chair in the living room. We prayed together the Lord's Prayer and "the scientific statement of being" (see Science and Health, p. 468), and talked about these healing messages. Then my mom told me to just sit quietly and feel God's presence. While she made dinner she prayed quietly, too.

In about a half hour, I was completely healed. I sat down and ate all my dinner without any problem.

I am now in seventh grade and have never had any more trouble with my jaw. I am grateful to God for this healing and many other healings that I have had in Christian Science.

I helped my daughter write her testimony, and can verify that this healing happened as she stated.

We affirmed together the ever-presence of divine Love and denied any possibility of an accident in God's perfect creation. It was wonderful to see Tabitha's fear just vanish when I assured her of God's presence and protecting care.

This healing has been a springboard for many other healings that she has had. Often when she is praying about a problem, we recall how God healed her jaw, and some other quick healings she has had. She has now learned that there is nothing that cannot be healed when we turn to our Father-Mother God.
