For many years, studying the Bible in conjunction with...

For many years, studying the Bible in conjunction with Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy has brought healing and strength to my husband and me, and to our five children, now adults. Our needs have always been met. Healings that took place, just to name a few, were of fractured bones, third-degree burns, and whiplash (resulting from a car accident).

I would like to share a recent healing. One day I felt twinges of pain in my arm. I mentally pushed the pain aside in order to finish some projects. But a few days later, early one evening, I had such extreme pain in different areas of my body that I found it very difficult to pray for myself. I telephoned a Christian Science practitioner, who agreed to pray for me and reminded me of my spiritual relationship to God. She told me that God's arms were around me. In the hours that followed, this spiritual fact was a constant reminder of God's love and safekeeping of me as His loved child. The healing truths of many hymns, especially those poems of Mrs. Eddy's set to music as hymns, were very helpful.

At one point, I sat in a chair, unable to move one arm or walk freely. My husband and daughter stayed up with me throughout the night and were in touch the practitioner several times. My daughter read the ninety-first Psalm to me from the Bible and the following words from Science and Health: "Man is not matter; he is not made up of brain, blood, bones, and other material elements. The Scriptures inform us that man is made in the image and likeness of God."

In the morning hours I was able to lie down. I felt stronger and was able to move a little. A few hours later, I knew I was healed. I felt truly well. Although my body felt rather sore, I could move my arm with ease and walk with complete freedom. Two days later all discomfort vanished completely.

I am so grateful to God. I would like to express gratitude for the selflessness and outreach of Christian Science practitioners throughout the world.
