I Write this testimony with gratitude for a life filled with Christian Science healings—evidence of God's law operating in my daily experience.

Many years ago I had my first healing. At the time, I knew nothing about the religion and was under the care of the exceptionally fine doctor who had delivered our second baby girl. He told me that my ill health was due to internal cysts and that he had been treating me for this trouble. However, I was taking no medicine.

Early one morning I woke at two o'clock with severe pain, chills, and shaking. I asked my husband to call the doctor. He turned from the hallway and asked if he could instead call the Christian Science practitioner who had been helping him pray about unemployment. I resisted and started to say, "No," but the strong thought came, "Why not?" and I gave my consent. A wonderful event took place. In about thirty minutes I was able to straighten out and go to sleep. The next day I called the practitioner and thanked her for the healing. She assured me that it was God whom we would thank.

I then began reading Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. At times I would stop reading and argue with a statement; each time the angel thought would come, "But it healed you!" I would acknowledge that fact as true and then continue the study.

Eventually my husband and I began to attend a Church of Christ, Scientist, and enrolled our two daughters in Sunday School. We became members of The Mother Church and a local branch church. Looking to God for help, the four of us received needed guidance as well as many healings.

Our older daughter remembers a time when friends of mine commented on how well I looked. She asked me what they meant. I explained that my earlier years had been spent with feelings of weakness, but that learning of God's love for me and all mankind had changed my thinking. Spiritualized thought had improved my strength and even my appearance.

I'm grateful to be able to have all of Mrs. Eddy's published writings to study, and to be able to practice the Science that they teach. In Science and Health she writes: "Our Master said to every follower: 'Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature! ... Heal the sick! ... Love thy neighbor as thyself!' It was this theology of Jesus which healed the sick and the sinning. It is his theology in this book and the spiritual meaning of this theology, which heals the sick and causes the wicked to 'forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts.'"

Twenty-five years after becoming a Christian Scientist, I was healed of a fibroid tumor that had been medically diagnosed during a required examination. A doctor had told me to come back in a few months. Since I was feeling well, I didn't pray specifically about the problem. This was not wise. Later I became ill and called a practitioner for help. She detected that I was afraid, and I told her about the medical examination and prediction of trouble. She continued to pray, evidently about this specific fear. In a few days something passed from my body which fitted the doctor's description of a tumor. I was well. Here was more evidence of God's healing law operating in daily life. That healing took place about twenty years ago.

In remembering so many healings in the past, I am filled with a great love for all the practitioners who have faithfully applied God's law to help free me from fear and pain.
