Because both my wife and I had been raised in Christian Science,...
Because both my wife and I had been raised in Christian Science, we had learned from experience how natural and effective the practice of this Science is in health care as well as in resolving other problems. When we became parents, we were happy and grateful that we had Christian Science to rely upon.
One of the best friends of my family was the town's family doctor, who only served my family during the delivery of babies. My family's introduction to Science had come through a doctor's recommendation to my grandmother that she investigate this teaching, since in his opinion medical means could not help her in a life-threatening situation at the time of my father's impending birth.
In more recent years, the doctor attending the birth of one of our children had delivered a number of babies for parents who were Christian Scientists. At one time during labor she asked that I call the Christian Science practitioner who was praying for us and tell her that the baby was not in the correct position. I did so, and within ten minutes the doctor noted that the necessary adjustment had taken place and the birth proceeded harmoniously.
When one of our children was a toddler, she fell from the top basement step, landing on the floor below. The prayerful help of a practitioner was requested. By the end of the day, our daughter was perfectly and permanently healed. The fact that God's spiritual child is forever held in harmony and perfection was seen as a changeless law, bringing complete healing to this situation.
Another child, at the age of fifteen, fell beneath her horse on a brick roadway. She was brought home with apparent broken bones and severe lacerations. As she was able to choose for herself, we let her decide whether she wanted medical treatment or prayerful help in Christian Science. She chose the latter and was determined to rely on "the truth" to heal her.
In less than a week she was able to play hymns on the piano, using the arm that had been injured. Later, at school, teachers and fellow students were concerned about the facial cuts and expressed the opinion that she should have plastic surgery. We were sure that God doesn't heal us only in part, and within a few weeks no trace of the cuts was left. The divine fact of man's continuous unbroken relationship to God was firmly maintained throughout this time with wonderful healing results.
Our experiences have taught us that the best possible care for our children is the quick, immediate help that comes from God. This we have learned in Christian Science. How grateful we are for the healing power of God.

It is with joy that I verify the healings in my husband's testimony. Our children have always responded quickly when the teachings given in the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, have been applied.
