You and the practitioner

Have you ever talked to a Christian Science practitioner on the phone? If not, maybe your Mom or Dad has called one when you didn't feel well. But, you know, you don't have to be a grown-up to talk to a practitioner.

If you're just a little bit scared about getting on the phone, it might be because you don't know exactly who practitioners are or what they do. Well, they are people just like ones you already know. Some of them have become practitioners when they were very young. Others have first had regular jobs like being a businessman or homemaker, a teacher or policeman. There's nothing really different about these people except now they have decided to give their time to helping others by praying for them.

There are many ways to explain the way they help, but one of their main jobs is to help you see how God Himself heals you. Maybe I could use an example. Let's say you've borrowed a friend's jigsaw puzzle, and it has all the pieces but they are not in the box they first came in. Without being able to look at the full picture on the box, you might find it pretty tough to fit all the pieces together.
