Moses and the burning bush

Moses was a shepherd.
He took care of sheep.
He took his sheep to find grass to eat.
He took his sheep to find water to drink.
He found a safe place for his sheep to sleep.
Moses did not want wild animals to hurt them.
He took good care of his sheep.

One day Moses saw a bush.
The bush was on fire.
The bush was burning and burning.
The bush did not burn up.
Moses said, "This is a burning bush.
I don't understand why the bush does not burn up.
But I want to know."

God saw that Moses wanted to understand.
God called out to him, "Moses, Moses!"
Moses answered, "Here I am."
Then God said, "Moses, take your shoes off.
You are in the presence of My all-power."

Moses was scared, but he kept listening.
Then he heard God say, "My people are slaves in Egypt.
Cruel men make them work all day.
They are sad and crying."
God said, "I have chosen you to lead them to another country."

Moses asked, "When they ask who sent me,
Whose name shall I say?"
God said, "My name is I am. I cause whatever is to happen.
Tell them that I am has sent you,
That I am will make them free."

Moses liked his woolly sheep.
He liked to take care of his sheep.
But Moses obeyed God.
He took care of God's people instead.
He helped them find food and water.
He took them to live in another country.

Moses wrote down God's rules for everyone.
They are called the Ten Commandments.
When we obey these rules,
We feel close to God, good.
We feel close to I am
And do what He knows is best for us.
