There is no feeling to compare with the joy that accompanies a healing in Christian Science!

One Monday, about quitting time, I fell while attempting to carry a number of steel rims over a large pile of scrap iron. While I did not have a medical diagnosis, it appeared as if I had broken a bone in my foot. As a lifelong student of Christian Science, the first thought I entertained was that man, made in God's likeness, cannot express or know anything unlike God, good. I also recognized that I was entirely capable of feeling, at that moment, the total control of omnipotent Spirit that never allows its offspring to fall or sin. I continuously claimed the perfect status of man as God's reflection as I gathered up the rims and headed for the shop.

Later that evening, en route to a talk on Christian Science at a nearby university, my foot was very painful, and I found walking nearly impossible. Then I realized I had not completely eliminated the suggestion of a broken bone from my thinking. I knew that that must be done before I could prove in some measure that man is not mortal and liable to accident and injury, but in truth is only and always immortal, intact.

After returning home I earnestly turned to God in prayer, seeking guidance and direction. The most appropriate action appeared to be to study the Bible Lesson in the Christian Science Quarterly. But I halfheartedly approached the work because I had already studied it that morning, and nothing I could remember seemed really applicable to the present situation.

You can imagine my overwhelming joy when I discovered this verse from Psalm 34 in the lesson (v. 20): "He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken." I rejoiced that I really was the child of God, and I affirmed that I could see this truth manifested humanly. Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health (p. 427), "Immortal Mind, governing all, must be acknowledged as supreme in the physical realm, so-called, as well as in the spiritual."

I was able to sleep that night and return to work the next afternoon. By Wednesday I felt complete freedom, and noticed that even the large bruise on my foot had disappeared. This healing occurred over thirteen years ago, and there has been no discomfort since.

I was healed of temporary blindness when grinding dust flew into my eyes, and I have had healings of many other physical ailments solely through reliance on Christian Science treatment.

This is my "joyful noise unto the Lord" and heartfelt gratitude for all Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and his devoted follower Mrs. Eddy have given mankind.
