The grateful testifiers at the Wednesday meetings in branch...
The grateful testifiers at the Wednesday meetings in branch Churches of Christ, Scientist, acknowledge God's omnipotence, omnipresence, all-loving care, and support. They have experienced this power through the Christ, and in demonstration of divine Mind's holy way or purpose for man, which is always good. I want to acknowledge God's healing power in my life.
Sometime past, while I was at work, I found that I was unable to stand on my feet. A fellow employee kindly took me home by taxi, practically having to carry me. That evening there was quite a discussion between my mother and my dad as to what should be done for me. My dad had been a student of Christian Science for some years. My mother's ways were exactly the opposite; material medicine was her desire. I was between two fires, as they asked me what I wanted to do. I looked at my mother and then at my dad; although I had been going to Christian Science services with my dad since I was a young lad, I chose my mother's wishes. She called a doctor. After he examined me, I was sent to a hospital, with a diagnosis of arthritis in both feet, ankles, and knees. Later my hands and fingers were affected.
After a month at the hospital my weight went down from one hundred fifty pounds to approximately eighty-eight pounds. I was unable to feed myself and had to be fed. I couldn't stand any weight on my feet, and a rack was used to support the sheet. I was receiving inoculations and medications. I was also very frightened, as I was sinking lower and lower.
My parents kept coming to visit me. On one particular day my dad visited me alone. With tears of humility in my eyes, I asked for "a cup of cold water" (Matt. 10:42) in Christ's name; I asked for Christian Science treatment and a Christian Science practitioner. My wish was immediately carried out. With the Christian Science treatment I refused all medication and the following day signed myself out of the hospital. I was carried by my dad to a taxi, and then home. I was later informed that the hospital authorities had told my parents that I was to be sent to a place for incurables, as my case hopeless.
I started again to study each day the Bible Lesson in the Christian Science Quarterly and continued to have Christian Science treatment, the prayerful support of the practitioner. My condition began to improve, with Dad serving as a nurse to me, washing, feeding, loving me. And, especially significant, he was seeing me as we are taught to see man in Christian Science, spiritual and perfect, like my Maker.
I started going to the church services after a while, with the help of a cane, and was healed in about six months. That was forty-three years ago.
This healing is to me a rock, a foundation on which to build. This uncovering of my true state through healing has shown me that I am journeying from sense to Soul.
For the abundance of good that has been my lot, I am humbly grateful, and I know it would be impossible to formulate in words what my consciousness expresses and reflects in acknowledgment of God's great good. I am most grateful first and foremost to our Father-Mother God, who loves and cares for all His children, and for Christ Jesus, the Way-shower. The Christ, Truth, which is timeless, awakens, uplifts us, and enlightens our path and shows us the oneness that exists between God and man. I am thankful for the most unselfish woman, Mary Baker Eddy, who left to us, to share, this most valuable legacy. She indeed is our revered Leader, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, which establishes this holy teaching of Christ Jesus as demonstrable knowledge. For the good and rich blessing of class instruction by a consecrated teacher, for the joy of serving in a branch church, and for membership in The Mother Church, I am profoundly grateful. Are there any richer treasures than these?

For the past five years I've had the benefit Christian Science gives during childbirth and in raising children. Never before had I realized how much protection and guidance we receive from the study and application of Christian Science.
I'm grateful that my father, who never became a Christian Scientist, supported my mother in taking us children to Christian Science Sunday School and other church activities. Sunday School gave me a foundation in Christian Science I did not appreciate at the time, but I have since learned its value.
In my life I have had many wonderful healings and learning experiences because of Christian Science. When I was still a child of my mother prayed earnestly to heal me permanently of defects I was born with. Since then I have had numerous physical examinations, and never has a physician mentioned any abnormality. Also my teeth came in straight, after dentists said that surgery and braces were necessary. Sprained ankles were healed quickly. There were many times when divine protection and guidance were felt by all the family members.
One recent proof of God's care has to do with our young son. He had fallen almost two stories onto a concrete pathway. My husband went running to him. I remember saying, "No, No, No!" I would not let myself be impressed with the human picture. We immediately started denying any imperfection in the child and affirmed his true spiritual identity. We knew that no idea of God could fall from his position as God's child, perfect, healthy, and harmonious. Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health (p. 258), "Never born and never dying, it were impossible for man, under the government of God in eternal Science, to fall from his high estate." Also she writes (ibid., p. 282), "Whatever indicates the fall of man or the opposite of God or God's absence, is the Adam-dream, which is neither Mind nor man, for it is not begotten of the Father." We also knew that no one could go anywhere God was not, that God is good, and that "we live, and move, and have our being" in God (Acts 17:28). We relied on these truths and many others with greater conviction than we ever had before. We demanded that God's supremacy and care must be felt by all, because God is All-in-all. We also had the prayerful treatment of a Christian Science practitioner. Within one week every symptom of injury was healed. Our son was alert and full of the bouncing energy he had always had.
Our son did not come into contact with a medical physician during this time but has since had an occasion to be looked over by one, who made no mention of any effects of injury. The doctor commented on what a beautiful child our son is.
For this healing I am very grateful. But I am even more grateful for the continual lessons we learn and for a growing understanding of my Father-Mother God.
I am praying daily to do the best I can to rely radically on the truths Christ Jesus brought to us—truths that are unfolded in a most enlightened way by Mrs. Eddy in Science and Health. In this radical reliance I strive to be grateful and appreciative of what they have done for me and all mankind.

I'd like to verify the healings my wife has written about in her testimony. The healing of our son happened over a year ago, and no ill effects from the fall have remained. It took the radical application of Christian Science in our every thought of him to bring about a complete healing within one week.
