I would like to share with you a complete healing, that was almost instantaneous, of brain concussion as the result of an accident. My wife and I in our car were struck broadside by another car while we were standing still waiting to make a turn.

For several hours I was irrational, not knowing anything about the accident or where I was. As a student of Christian Science I was learning that at all times and under all conditions there is only one Mind, protecting and governing all, and this understanding was present in my consciousness.

During this period of instability I had phoned from my hospital bed for the assistance of a Christian Science practitioner, fourteen hundred miles away. I learned this the next day when my daughter told me that I was receiving help from the practitioner. Under all conditions and circumstances God is omnipresent, omnipotent, never separate from His children, always our Father-Mother. In one of our conversations, the practitioner explained that the real man of God's creation had not been injured, is completely intact, and is always in God's care. Quoting Mrs. Eddy, he said to remember that "God never endowed matter with power to disable Life or to chill harmony with a long and cold night of discord" (Science and Health, p. 378).

This statement of Mrs. Eddy's so aroused me that when the doctor came to see me, I told him I was a Christian Scientist and was receiving help from a Christian Science practitioner, that I was now completely rational. I thanked him for his assistance and told him that I would like to be released as soon as possible. He said, "Well, you certainly seem to be well, but to satisfy myself I would like to make more tests and X rays." He did, and found everything fine, and I was released. I spent a total of two days in the hospital.

When I was told that my wife was in the intensive care unit, as she had been seriously injured, my ray of hope and peace was that God was ever present and that a practitioner was seeing her as God's reflection and working for her complete recovery, which she achieved.

Christian Science has been our only medicine for twenty-five years and has never failed us, not only in times of physical need, but in helping us find homes, good employment, and, above all, peace of mind.

I am eternally grateful to God for Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, for Mrs. Eddy, who has shown us the way to pray scientifically, for branch church and Mother Church membership, and for the unforgettable experience of class instruction.

I am the wife referred to in the previous testimony and would like to express my gratitude for this Science and for my healing.

The doctor told me that many of my ribs were broken, and that my pelvis was crushed, and I would be hospitalized for quite some time. Soon after that I knew we were getting help from a Christian Science practitioner. I realized that all material laws were being reversed. The doctor was saying my back should be in cast; next the ribs should be taped; and I was going to need blood transfusions. Later he told me none of these things would be necessary. He told my son, who telephoned, that he had never seen anything like this, that what he saw on the X rays one day was not there the next time. I was in the hospital three weeks when I asked to go home. There, with the loving care of my husband, both physically and spiritually, and the devoted help of a practitioner, whom I talked to daily, within three weeks after I arrived home I discarded the wheelchair and walker, and I was walking by myself. In two more weeks I was riding my bike.

I am so grateful to God for His ever-presence, for this practical religion, and for church membership and class instruction from a truly dedicated teacher.
