How Can I Face It!

If any human circumstance gives rise to dread, so that one is inclined to ask how he can face a situation, he may be assured that divine help is available and can meet the need. Mrs. Eddy provides a light of Christian encouragement for every shadowy path of experience. "Remember," she writes, "thou canst be brought into no condition, be it ever so severe, where Love has not been before thee and where its tender lesson is not awaiting thee. Therefore despair not nor murmur, for that which seeketh to save, to heal, and to deliver, will guide thee, if thou seekest this guidance." The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, pp. 149–150;

Christian Science reveals God as the only Mind of the universe. According to Scripture this divine Mind is Love. Thus the creation of Truth, the realm of divine reality, is filled with ideas of Truth and Love in perpetual, wholesome activity. In truth, we never have anything to face except God's ideas—the expressions of joy, peace, purity, harmony, health, and intelligence reflecting Him. A material, mortal state of existence is unreal and does not proceed from God.

But we might ask how this absolute spiritual reasoning can affect some human situation that is causing apprehension. Human existence, after all, does seem to be quite real.
