In a testimony which was published in the September 16, 1961, issue of the Sentinel telling of the healing of my son, I stated that through this experience I had found a new way of life. This has proved to be so, and I am more grateful each day. Since then we have had many wonderful healings, many proofs of God's care.

One healing in particular has helped me to stand many times, and I would like to share it. Like the woman in the Bible with the issue of blood, this physical problem had plagued me for several years. I had help at different times from a Christian Science practitioner, and I continued my study to gain a higher view of God.

One day a close relative, who cared deeply but was fearful for my health, made an appointment with a doctor for me without my permission. When he told me this I was quite shocked, and turned humbly to God. I had no intention of keeping the appointment, but I wanted him to know I appreciated his love and interest.

I was very grateful for a statement from the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, which reads (p. 475): "Man is not matter; he is not made up of brain, blood, bones, and other material elements." The word "blood" stood out to me. Another passage that helped me is on page 376 of the textbook, bringing out the thought that God, Spirit, is man's Life, and that blood does not give or take away life. I reasoned from this, "What difference does it make what sense testimony is saying? There is only one power—God." I was healed instantly, completely, and permanently. This experience has been such a blessing in seeing the importance of obedience and of being steadfast.

I am so sincerely grateful for Christian Science class instruction, membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, and for the privilege of serving the Cause in many ways.
