At one point I suffered frequent severe headaches...

At one point I suffered frequent severe headaches. I awakened early some mornings feeling I couldn't go to work. I reasoned that because I was really God's child and held in His care, I was under no mortal mind pressure or cause. I studied the paragraph on page 207 of the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, which begins, "There is but one primal cause. Therefore there can be no effect from any other cause, and there can be no reality in aught which does not proceed from this great and only cause."

I pondered this daily, and I had the inspiration that my only occupation was to serve God and mankind. The attacks became less frequent. I held to these truths and didn't miss a day of work, for which I am most grateful. The headaches stopped, and my healing was complete.

Recently I had what appeared to be an infected varicose vein. When I saw the symptoms, I immediately declared, "There is no poison in Mind, and I reflect the one Mind, God; therefore perfection prevails." I called a Christian Science practitioner, who calmed my fears and gave me treatment. In a short while the leg cleared up completely and has been fine since.

Other healings that have taken place over the years through the application of Christian Science include those of kidney infection, flu, an ulcer, and minor ailments.

The spiritual values I am finding in Christian Science proving the perfection of God and man have been a revelation to me. The instruction (Science and Health, p. 261) to "hold thought steadfastly to the enduring, the good, and the true, and you will bring these into your experience proportionably to their occupancy of your thoughts" has been one of my daily aims. I hope to demonstrate more of this simple truth Mrs. Eddy gave to us through her study of Christ Jesus' life and revealed to us in the textbook.

I am most grateful for all the activities of the Christian Science movement and for serving in it as a Christian Science nurse, and also for our periodicals and class instruction.
