[Ability to demonstrate Christian Science comes with study and practice of the truth taught by Christ Jesus and revealed in Science and Health. This series touches upon some ways in which this truth can be applied.]
Healing through recognition of God's love
God's love for His creation is not an abstraction. God is divine Love, immortal Mind. He knows nothing of mankind's dream of mortal existence, yet the recognition of His loving care for all is the most powerful healing agent known to the world. Divine Love brings light to human consciousness, dispelling human fear and the false images of evil, disease, and death through which it is manifested.
Mrs. Eddy writes, "God pities our woes with the love of a Father for His child,—not by becoming human, and knowing sin, or naught, but by removing our knowledge of what is not." No and Yes, p. 30;
Christ Jesus healed by recognizing the saving power of God, divine Love, who sent him. He comforted suffering humanity by revealing to them the nature of God's tender relationship with His idea, man, as Father and son. He demonstrated that this understanding comes to human consciousness and overcomes the discords and diseases of mortal, material existence by exposing their unreality.
