A Law-abiding People

Human jurisprudence varies from land to land, but divine law is changeless, universal, impartial. Divine jurisprudence is the will of God, the rule of divine Principle, the law of good, which ensures perfection for all and can never be broken. It governs the true, spiritual universe incontrovertibly. It is even more universally dependable than the physical laws of gravity or polar attraction. It operates as surely on the moon as it does on earth, and there is no force of material magnetism to counteract its absolute power.

Worldly codes of justice improve and unify in proportion as mankind understands and obeys divine law. As men grasp God's statutes and bring their thoughts and actions into conformity with them, they experience increasing peace and well-being. Fear, injustice, resentment, are gradually outlawed. Health improves. Freedom, fulfillment, and harmony are progressively established. Individual rights become better known and acknowledged. God's perfect will is eventually realized on earth as in His spiritual kingdom.

The understanding of divine law comes gradually. The process does not involve rejection of the human laws we already know, but through respect for these laws we are helped to a better grasp of God's law.
