Over a half century ago I was going through deep waters. It was at this time the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, was given to me by a dear woman who was the librarian of a Christian Science Reading Room. I questioned her as to who Mrs. Eddy was and inquired about her life. The librarian then loaned me the biography of Mrs. Eddy by Sibyl Wilbur, and also Mrs. Eddy's book Retrospection and Introspection.

I was so deeply touched by Mrs. Eddy's lifework that I immediately began to read Science and Health and read it from cover to cover. As a result of this reading I was completely healed of an injury caused when my child was born. I had suffered from this condition for several years. Medical science had failed to heal it, but reading the textbook brought my immediate recovery.

This healing, which proved the efficacy of the writings, brought me closer to Mrs. Eddy's works and her mission. She devoted her life to giving us this revelation, which came to her through God.
