One morning I woke up and went downstairs.

One morning I woke up and went downstairs. My mother was on the sofa, and she had the Bible, and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, beside her. She said, "Do you want to have the lesson now?" I said, "No, I want to have breakfast now." My mother said that having the lesson then was important. She then told me that my bike was gone, and that it had been missing from our front yard since early evening the night before. So I sat on the sofa with my mother and we read from the Bible. Then we read from Science and Health. We knew that no good thing can ever be lost, and that all God's children are honest. We talked about these thoughts very seriously, and we denied the thought of a stolen bike.

I felt bad at first, but I did not cry, and I knew that my bike was not lost. I walked to school after that, but I never complained. A few days later my aunt came for a week. She and I went to the police station and asked about my bike, but it was not there.

About a month later my mother, my brother, and I were in another city. My father gave us a call from home one day. He had good news. My bike was back! The basket and bell were there, and everything was in perfect shape. I was so grateful and happy that I could not wait to get home. Soon we returned home. My dad said that he knew that the bike would come back. The police had called and said they had it.

I think that it is very important to study the Bible Lesson every day because of all the good ideas it brings you. I am glad that I understand a little about Christian Science. It makes me grateful and happy. I am nine and a half.
